ABOUT THE EVENT

The Run for the Cheetah is a fun event designed to raise awareness about the endangered cheetah and to raise funds to support the Cheetah Conservation Fund's programs.


WHEN & WHERE

Saturday, April 26, 2008, Ramadas 9 & 10 at Papago Park,
by the Phoenix Zoo, 455 North Galvin Parkway.

STARTING TIMES
6:30 a.m. Registration
7:30 a.m. 5K Run/Walk
7:40 a.m. 1 Mile run
8:30 a.m. 100 yard dash for kids - FREE!
9:00 a.m. Awards Ceremony

 

 

 

START AND FINISH
All events start and finish at Ramadas 9 and 10, just north of the Phoenix Zoo parking lot.


Enjoy the hospitality of our booths, including the Cheetah Conservation Fund and Phoenix Zoo! Immediately following the race, guest speakers will present awards and share the most current status of our beloved cheetahs. Bring your family and enjoy the festivities!

COURSES [back to top]
All races start at Ramadas 9 and 10 in Papago park, just north of the Phoenix Zoo parking lot.
Both the 5K & 1 mile run will take place on paved roads and canals that run by the Phoenix Zoo. www.phoenixzoo.org

CHAMPIONCHIP TIMING
All competitors (runners & walkers) in the 5K and 1 mile will receive a Timing Chip in your race packet. You must wear the Chip on your shoe (per the instructions on the packet) if you want to receive your race time.

AWARDS
Framed Award Certificates will be presented to the top
three Overall Male and Female finishers, and the top
three male and female finishers in each of the following
age brackets: 10-14,15-19,20-24,25-29,30-34,35-39,40-
44,45-49,50-54,55-59,60-64,65-69,70-74,75-79,Over 80

POST RACE PARTY [back to top] Including food, animal themed displays, guest speakers, music, raffle drawings, official CCF merchandise available and free entry to the Phoenix Zoo on the day of the race with the Run for the Cheetah race bib.
Join us for post race festivities.

RACE RESULTS
Unofficial race results will be posted at the finish line as the race is in progress. Official race results will be posted on the Arizona Road Racer's Web site.

The fastest land animal on earth is also Africa's most endangered big cat. With only 12,000 wild cheetah left, the cheetah could disappear within 20 years. With your help, CCF can maintain the programs that will help the cheetah win its race for survival.
